Join The Club!

Due to the up and coming Indoor Lacrosse opportunity available at Ironhead lacrosse, the format of Blue Dog Lacrosse will be almost completely different for the 2010 Summer and Fall. We will continue to have practices Tuesdays and Thursdays, and get to some tournaments, though not as many. We will encourage our players to play Indoor at a skill appropriate level, practices will be on a punch card system, and attendance will be taken. Players will be invited, based on their hard work, to go to tournaments, and costs will be collected at that time.

June 1,2010 - Feb. 1, 2011
Up to 75 practices.

Time: 10-12 in summer, 4-6pm when school’s in session. 3:30-5:30 after daylight savings is over.

Practice sessions bought can be carried over summer to fall, but not to June 2011. No refunds for any reason... sorry, not even injury.

Thank you for your interest in Blue Dog Lax!

We are an independently owned and operated private club. It is our intent to develop Lacrosse player outside the high school season to prepare them for a higher level of play when returning to their high school teams. We will attend Indoor lacrosse and tournaments subject to player commitment, skill and hard work. Parent input as to placement on teams/level is not taken into account.

Cost/#of Practices:
This varies with your membership. Practices run from $13-$20 (Ironhead league fees, uniforms and tournament fees not included). In order to compete in tournaments, players must sign up seperately. Fees apply and are paid to the tournament/league directors.

Dates: June 1, 2010- January 31, 2011

Locations:
Ruby Hill is often our practice location. See the Calender.

Coaches: Jen Milus, Beth Braun, etal. Guest coaches as needed.

Team Colors: Royal Purple, Royal Blue and White. Reversible Pinney and Royal Blue Shorts

Uniforms:
Returning members can wear last year's pinneys. New members must purchase a uniform. Click here. These pinneys are custom made and need to be special ordered. So, their care needs to be closely guarded. Please wash them in cold water hang them dry! Shorts will be yours to keep, maintain and replace if lost or destroyed. If your shorts are lost, and you have not yet replaced them, royal blue rage soccer shorts are acceptable. Varsity and JV  have slightly different uniforms. Players move up and down according to numbers each tournament. Just because a player has a varsity jersey does not mean they are always varsity, and the reverse is also true.

Policy on Playing for your high school group or another team:
If we are scrimmaging, or playing in a tournament, and your high school group is putting a team together, we encourage you to participate with them if you would like. If you are interested in playing for a traveling team that may increase your visibility to college coaches please discuss it with us.Going to Colllege Camps where you might like to play might be a better, and more affordable option.

Guest Players:
If we are short players for a tournament, and are in need of players of a certain skill level, it is up to our discretion to pick up guest players to fill that roster. Those guest players will be asked to pay an additional coaching fee due to the fact that they are not club members.

Playing time:
Playing time and participation will be based on our perception of talent, skill, hard work, effort, speed, effectiveness, attitude and openness to coaching. Parent involvement in such decisions is not up for discussion. Playing time will not necessarily be even, but fair in our estimation and based on merit.

Players and parents behavior:
Sportsmanship is of the utmost importance. This is a private club. Parents and player behavior is expected to be respectful of other teams and players. Insults or profanity directed at other coaches, players, teams, teammates, parents or refs will not be tolerated. If membership in the club is terminated, current months/tournament dues/fees are not refundable.

Which High School you play for is not important!
Players will be chosen, and placed on teams based on their individual merit, and their ability to function on the team in question, and the playing opportunity available. There will be no bias for or against any player based on which high school they play for. Age/grade will be considered in placement, but this is only a small consideration.

Payment of Fees:
To be paid by credit card, and will be paid up front, and are non-refundable.

Refunds
The Club's cost structure of a player's participation is not variable. This means that if a player no longer plays with her team, the costs do not decrease; her coach receives the same salary, insurance, equipment and other fees are unchanged. Therefore, there are NO REFUNDS. This includes if a player is discharged from the club for disciplinary reason. Once a player commits to a tournament, in writing or by paying, they are responsible for the fees for their spot. Refunds cannot be issued, as decisions have been made upon your word/commitment.

Travel Tournament fees:
Tournaments are additional. Each travel tournament has fixed costs and each player is responsible for her share of those costs, even if the player decides after committing, not attend the tournament (pro rata tournament fee, travel and lodging costs for coaches and chaperons, etc.).

Tournament Fees:
No  tournaments are included in your membership fees!
This will reflect the actual cost of the tournament collected by the tournament directors. Some fees may be added to pay coaches. Each tournament will require a waiver, and you will be notified when the time comes. They can all be found on the web site under waivers and downloads.

Communication/Emails:
When you sign up for Blue Dog Lax, it is with the understanding that you agree to answer emails and submit paperwork in a timely fashion. We cannot do our job unless you do yours. If failure to respond to invites becomes a problem, the invites will be discontinued, leaving your player asking to be included in tournaments, and there may not be room.

If we add a distant Tournament, in addition, there will be other costs:
Tournament fees
Airfare/Travel (to and from, + travel for Coaches to and from)
Hotel
Food
Car rental/gas
etc.

US Lacrosse membership:
Each and every member of Blue Dog Lacrosse must be a current member is US Lacrosse and present their membership number in paperwork. If membership is non-current, any claim to liability for any and all injury is null and void. Tournaments require membership as well, and therefore, we must have proof such membership. If a member leaves their US Lacrosse info off their form, the entire team and all other teams we play, are not covered by liability insurance. If someone gets hurt, we have a very big problem.
